Chemical engineering is unique because it combines life sciences, physics and chemistry with mathematics and economics to transform how we use chemicals, materials and energy.

Qualifications:  Similar to other engineers, chemical engineers must have strong communication skills. They are also excellent problem-solvers, creative, self-motivated, and have demonstrated their technical skills. 

Education:  Employers require a 4-year degree in engineering or the equivalent for entry-level positions. Some employers may require an advanced degree.
